Sunday 20 December (5 Sleeps to go!)

It's day 8 and the last Sunday before the BIG DAY!

What do you think of when you think of comfort? A fireplace roaring with a cosy blanket? A hot cup of tea? Today we're looking at comfort from the Lord.

Kara is heading to Northern Ghana soon for a two-year missions trip, and has great taste in cardigans. We're so privileged to have her bringing today's reflection to us. Find out how you can pray for her HERE

How beautiful on the mountains
are the feet of those who bring good news,
who proclaim peace,
    who bring good tidings,
    who proclaim salvation,
who say to Zion,
    “Your God reigns!”
Listen! Your watchmen lift up their voices;
    together they shout for joy.
When the Lord returns to Zion,
they will see it with their own eyes.
Burst into songs of joy together,
    you ruins of Jerusalem,
for the Lord has comforted his people,
    he has redeemed Jerusalem.
10 The Lord will lay bare his holy arm
in the sight of all the nations,
and all the ends of the earth will see
    the salvation of our God.

Isaiah 52:7-10 (NIV)

Reflect:
  • What have you been going to for comfort this year?
  • What does the comfort of God look like to you?
  • Do you allow God to comfort you?
Pray:
  • Lord bring you comforting touch today by your Spirit.
  • Thank you for your peace and good tidings.
Fun fact: our new Director of Ministry Andy Gliddon's favourite Christmas album is Mariah Carey's - it's quite gospel sounding apparently.
