Monday 14 December (11 Sleeps to go!)

It's Day 2 of our 12 Days of Advent.
Did you make it to any of our services online or in person yesterday?

Today we've got The Vicar leading our daily reflection! So without further ado, over to Henry:
Henry's speaking on his own experience of God taking an insignificant place and doing increadible things with it!

But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
though you are small among the clans
 of Judah,
out of you will come for me
one who will be ruler over Israel,
whose origins are from of old,
    from ancient times.”

Therefore Israel will be abandoned
until the time when she who is in labor bears a son,
and the rest of his brothers return
    to join the Israelites.

He will stand and shepherd his flock
in the strength of the Lord,
in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God.
And they will live securely, for then his greatness
will reach to the ends of the earth.

Micah 5:2-4 (NIV)

Reflect:
  • Where are you feeling like the underdog in your life?
  • What dream have you had, that you'd like God to reawaken today?
  • V4 - declare this promise about Jesus over your situation
Pray:
  • Father, we ask that you would reawaken in us the dreams you have given us to do extrodinary things
You guessed it, we had to use O Little Town of Bethlehem for today's song. See Matt Redman's version below.
