What is the Community Grocery

Bridging the gap between food banks and supermarkets, Community Grocery stores help keep families fed by providing access to affordable food and wrap-around support to those who need it. If you are feeling the financial impact of the rising cost of living, and it’s hard to put food on the table, then we’re here to help through our store.

Step inside a Community Grocery and you’ll find a full range of food, household, and toiletry options available for you to choose from at the fraction of the cost of your weekly shop. Anyone who is finding it hard to feed their families and could do with our help can sign up to be a member.

But the Community Grocery is not just about food. We also offer a range of free wrap-around support on offer for members, different courses like, money management support, healthy cooking classes, job clubs and much more.

The Community Grocery is being run by the national award-winning charity, The Message Trust in partnership with St Barnabas church.

When does it open?
