Synergy
‘Synergy’ (St Barnabas Young Adults Ministry) facilitates opportunities for those aged 18-30's to learn and grow, socialise and have fun, and look outward and join in with what God is doing in the world. We meet together regularly for Young Adult Gatherings where the invitation is extended to young adults to experience community life on a larger scale, with an emphasis on exploring how we follow Jesus and ‘do life’ together in contemporary culture.
There are a number of areas of ministry that the Synergy encompasses:
- Monthly ‘Synergy Young Adults’ Gatherings’: worship and teaching events
- Termly ‘Synergy Socials’: social events catering for the 18-30 somethings age group
- Youth to Young Adult Transition: joint events with St. B’s youth groups to prepare our 18 year olds for transition into adult church life, and an annual ‘Graduation Party’ in the Summer Term
- Synergy Students: social and training events, pastoral care and networking to support our students staying with us and those going away to study elsewhere during term-time
- DNA (Demonstrate and Articulate): training workshops and opportunities to serve in a mission context
7pm Sunday Service
Whilst many Young Adults go to our morning services, the majority choose to come to our 7pm Sunday evening service. After the service we provide facilities so that people can hang out, eat, drink, socialise and befriend each other in our lounge area. This happens directly after the 7pm service and finishes at 11pm.
